KANSAS CITY, Mo. — With the debate over the future of GMO labeling in the Senate, every person in the agricultural industry is being challenged to gmo 2rise up. Wade Cowan, Chairman of the American Soybean Association and a farmer-producer from Texas says this is far too important of an issue to leave simply to chance.

“We’ve got to stop this because it’s going to cost the consumer a lot of money. It’s going to cost the farmer a lot of money, and in the end it takes us back towards the dark ages. I really like to say in this fight an analogy that back in the old days they said the earth was flat and people kept saying the earth was flat but you know it wasn’t. Well they keep saying GMO’s are bad, but they’re not… They need to call in [and] they need to get on the website.”

The phone number is 866-464-6633, or you can go to the website cfsaf.org which is the Center For Safe Affordable Food. Cowan says if producers go to this website it will direct them to an e-mail. “What I’d really encourage everyone to do is when you [see] this is take the time…get on the number and make the call.”
