UPDATE: (08/28/2016 4:15 a.m.) Officers of the Carrollton Police Department were involved in an officer involved shooting in the 300 block of East Third Street Saturday night. The suspect was transported by air ambulance to a trauma center. The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control Unit were requested to respond to the scene to investigate the incident. The investigation is being conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Officers involved in the shooting have been placed on paid administrative leave per department policy.

Around 10:15 an ambulance was dispatched to the 300 block of East Third Street in Carrollton for a report of a gunshot wound to the head. No further details are available at this time.
