SEDALIA, Mo. – A lot of time and energy were spent during a search in Sedalia Monday night on a report by some juveniles.
Police received a call from a woman saying she heard yelling coming from a drainage ditch on West 9th Street. When officers arrived on scene, they met with juveniles who claimed two small children were playing in the ditch and had been swept away by water. Police, Fire, Sewer Department employees, Sheriffs deputies, ambulance crews and the Missouri Highway Patrol joined with members of the public to search and investigate the report.
Further investigation showed the reports to be unfounded, according to an updated press release by police.
